Rizwana Calls for Youth Involvement in Climate Solutions and Education

Bangladesh government officials want young people to help fight climate change. Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan met with UNICEF leaders on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Secretariat. She told them that teenagers and young adults need real jobs monitoring water projects and infrastructure work. The adviser also pushed for better technology to replace burning methods when dealing with medical waste and dirty water. Young voices should have power when making decisions about climate problems.

UNICEF Country Representative Rana Flowers talked about how climate change hurts kids across the country. Floods and food shortages damage their education and health every year. The international organization wants to put young people at the center of all environmental solutions. Flowers suggested talking to teenagers from different districts to learn what they think works best. She also wants regular meetings between young people and government ministers about water management.

The UNICEF team proposed making educational videos starring local children for schools across Bangladesh. These documentaries would teach other students about protecting the environment and fighting climate change. Hasan loved the idea and wants teachers trained to use the videos during regular classes. Both groups agreed to create programs where students learn recycling and waste separation skills. They also plan emergency training drills led entirely by young people.

The meeting ended with promises to work together on youth-focused environmental education. Both sides feel excited about helping the next generation become climate leaders. This partnership could boost Bangladesh efforts to build a sustainable future for everyone.
