Rockstar Games has officially confirmed a native version of Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for release next month. The package includes the base game and its Undead Nightmare expansion. Owners of the previous console versions on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch will receive this upgrade at no additional cost.
The current-generation console versions will support 4K resolution and a 60 FPS frame rate with HDR. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will also include NVIDIA DLSS technology and specific support for its new Joy-Con 2 controllers while maintaining the 60 FPS target. The title will also be available on iOS and Android devices, accessible through standard mobile stores or via a Netflix subscription.
Furthermore, the game will be included in the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog and the GTA+ subscription service on its launch day. This release modernizes the classic title for new hardware, though a similar upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 has not yet been announced.
