Rolling terror attack kills two in northern Israel

A driver killed two people in a rolling terror attack across northern Israel. The assailant, a 37-year-old man from Qabatiya in the occupied West Bank, first ran over pedestrians in Beit She'an, killing a 68-year-old man and injuring a teenager. He then drove about eight miles west to near Ein Harod, where he stabbed and killed an 18-year-old woman. A civilian later shot and wounded the suspect outside Afula. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the military to act forcefully in the Qabatiya area, noting the attacker had been working illegally in Israel and used his employer's vehicle.

This violence follows another recent incident involving an Israeli reservist. A day prior, a video showed a soldier in civilian clothes ramming a praying Palestinian man with a quad bike in the West Bank. The Israeli military fired at the reservist and took his weapon, though reports stated the Palestinian was not physically hurt. Such settler attacks against Palestinians have increased sharply in recent years. Overall, fatalities remain high since the initial Hamas attacks, with tens of thousands reported killed in Gaza and over a thousand Palestinians dead in the West Bank during the ongoing conflict.
