RTX 5050 Missing in Action, Scalpers Lick Lips

NVIDIA released their budget graphics card but shoppers cannot buy one anywhere. The GeForce RTX 5050 appeared on store websites with zero units available for purchase. Major computer companies like ZOTAC, MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE created custom versions of the card. Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart show empty shelves for this graphics card. Newegg lists more than twelve different models but every single one remains out of stock.

Prices start at 249 dollars but climb as high as 289 dollars for premium models. NVIDIA announced the graphics card on June 24th but rushed the retail launch forward. Computer makers received orders to ship their custom designs much earlier than expected. The companies had little time to build up inventory and ship products to stores. Managing stock and distribution takes weeks of careful planning.

The rushed timeline created major supply problems across all retailers. Experts predict the shortage could last up to three weeks before stock improves. Newegg refuses to take pre-orders and gives no timeline for restocking. Computer buyers face frustration when trying to purchase the budget graphics card. Smart shoppers should avoid paying extra for overpriced models and wait for regular pricing to return.
