Russian tanker Kairos drifts to Bulgaria, crew evacuated after drone hit

That Russian tanker Kairos that got smacked by Ukrainian drones near Turkey back in November just washed up about a mile off Bulgaria's coast with 10 crew members asking for evacuation. The ship was getting dragged by a Turkish tugboat that apparently just ditched it near Bulgarian waters, and the thing has been drifting without power while getting hammered by crazy winds blowing over 15 meters per second.

Bulgarian authorities spotted the vessel floating around their territorial waters and anchored it near Ahtopol in about 20 meters of water. The navy and border police have choppers watching the situation, but four-point waves are making it rough for the two tugboats trying to help out. Experts say there's no oil spill risk since the tanker isn't hauling crude, and the crew has safety gear while everyone waits for the weather to chill.
