Ruto and Raila's framework puts a price on Kenya's political dead

During Phoebe Asiyo's funeral service in Homa Bay, Raila Odinga announced the establishment of enforcement mechanisms for the ODM-UDA agreement. The opposition leader confirmed that both parties had conducted a comprehensive review of their signed memorandum. Political violence victims spanning from 2017 through current times will receive financial reparations under this initiative. Compensation extends beyond recent incidents to address historical injustices affecting injured and deceased individuals. A parliamentary meeting scheduled for the following week will unite lawmakers from both political factions.

President William Ruto simultaneously declared a separate national compensation system for demonstration casualties. Makau Mutua received appointment as Principal Coordinator for this presidential framework. The program targets civilians and security forces harmed during protests and civil unrest. Government agencies will collaborate under Executive Office oversight to deliver these reparations. Implementation teams have received a four-month operational mandate to complete their assigned duties.
