Ruto hosts Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim for state banquet in Nairobi

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim received ceremonial honors during a state dinner hosted by President William Ruto, where the visiting leader commended Kenyan initiatives to deliver affordable shelter to economically disadvantaged citizens. The Southeast Asian official described the housing program as exemplifying strong governance that prioritizes equitable resource allocation for national advancement.

Diplomatic consultations will focus on expanding cooperation across digital infrastructure, residential construction, and academic exchanges between the two nations. Bilateral commerce reached 178.5 billion shillings last year, establishing Kenya as the third-largest African trading partner for Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian delegation will participate in forums connecting approximately 200 business representatives while exploring agricultural investment partnerships.

Anwar will address education summits and engage with Islamic community leaders before departing to conclude his three-country African tour.
