Rwandan teen bar attendants kill Diana Wase over a matchbox in Rukungiri

Police hauled away four young Rwandan bar workers after they beat a teenage colleague to death during a vicious brawl over smoking supplies. The brutal attack claimed the life of Diana Wase who worked alongside her killers at a local drinking establishment. Authorities identified the attackers as Elikoze Zuwaheze, Mutesi Zane, Muhawenimana Kolodina, and Omutono Owase Pasikalina. The deadly confrontation erupted when the group demanded matches from Wase for their cigarettes. Regional police spokesman Elly Maate revealed the shocking details of the fatal encounter.

The violence exploded at Nyarushanje stage cell where the teenagers operated their bar business together. Wase refused to hand over the matchbox which sparked an immediate fight between the coworkers. The attackers pummeled the young woman around her neck until she collapsed unconscious. Emergency responders rushed the battered victim to St. Andrews Health Center before transferring her to Kisizi Hospital. Medical staff pronounced Wase dead upon arrival at the second facility.

Detectives from Rubabo police station swooped in to arrest the suspected killers after receiving the murder report. Crime scene investigators processed evidence while regional commanders launched a full investigation into the deadly assault. The four suspects remain in custody awaiting formal charges in court proceedings. Prosecutors will present their case against the bar attendants who turned workplace disagreement into lethal violence. The matchbox dispute cost one teenager her life and destroyed four other young futures.
