SA legends whip Botswana 4 to 1 for Clash of Legends win

South African football legends crushed Botswana during the Clash of Legends tournament final. The match took place at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium on June 21st. Four countries entered the competition with Zimbabwe and Namibia making up the field. The South Africans dominated their hosts with a convincing 4-1 victory. Fans watched as veteran players showed they still had plenty of skill left.

The tournament structure featured knockout semifinals before the championship game. South Africa knocked out Zimbabwe during their semifinal match. Botswana advanced after defeating Namibia during the other semifinal contest. Both winning teams moved forward to battle for the tournament trophy. The final promised exciting action between neighboring African nations.

Cyril Nzama opened the scoring for South Africa during the championship match. Siphiwe Tshabalala added another goal to put pressure on the home team. Katlego Mashego proved unstoppable as he scored twice against Botswana. The visitors controlled the game from start to finish with superior play. Botswana managed just one goal against the experienced South African squad.

Itumeleng Khune started between the posts for the South African legends team. The defensive line featured Lucky Lekgwathi, Happy Jele, Cyril Nzama and Derrick Spencer. Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Thuso Phala and Dikgang Mabalane controlled the midfield. Siphiwe Tshabalala, Siyabonga Nomvethe and Josta Dladla led the attacking effort. These former stars proved their quality remained sharp despite retirement from professional football.
