Sabah floods dip to 396, Penampang and Beaufort still underwater

Flood waters have displaced 396 people across Sabah, representing 124 families, according to the State Disaster Management Committee. The afternoon count showed a slight decrease from the morning figures of 400 individuals from 125 households. Penampang district houses 242 evacuees from 73 families, while Beaufort accommodates 154 people representing 51 families. The emergency response has established three temporary shelters in Penampang with varying capacities.

Penampang Sports Complex currently shelters 31 individuals from five families. Dewan Huguan Siau hosts the largest group with 147 people from 49 households. Sekolah Kebangsaan St Paul Kolopis provides refuge for 64 evacuees from 19 families. Beaufort authorities have relocated all affected residents to the permanent relief facility in Selagon. The flooding has impacted 22 villages total, with Penampang experiencing damage across 14 communities and Beaufort affected in eight locations.
