Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold undercuts iPhone Fold, triple flex

Samsung might drop its triple-folding phone for around $2,447 in Korea, which sits barely above what Apple wants for its first foldable at $2,399. The company apparently slashed expectations from an earlier $2,719 target to stay competitive when both devices hit shelves.

The TriFold packs a 10-inch interior screen that folds twice using different hinge designs, with one radius tighter than the other, so panels stack without exposing delicate components. Hardware includes a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, three cameras led by a 200-megapixel shooter, and battery cells that combine for either 5,437mAh or 5,600mAh capacity wrapped in titanium.

Early projections suggest Samsung could move 120,000 units during the first year after launch, which happens sometime next month. The pricing play makes sense given Apple will enter foldables for the first time later next year.
