Namibia has degazetted Zacharias Seibeb from his position as leader of the Dâure Daman Traditional Authority following approval by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah under existing legislation. Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa confirmed the action through official correspondence referencing a government gazette publication.
The removal stems from widespread dissatisfaction among Dâure Daman communities, who submitted multiple petitions to the presidency requesting Seibeb's departure. Officials cited eroded confidence as the basis for stripping him of his leadership role within the traditional authority structure.
