Sanyang Ward to Sue BAC Over Unpaid 2.3M Fund

Sanyang Ward Development Committee wants 2.3 million dalasi from Brikama Area Council. The committee threatens court action if leaders refuse to pay the geology fund money. Village Development Committee chairpersons met Sunday at Sanyang beach to discuss the issue. Councilor Boto Bojang says mining areas deserve money from the special fund. The council received payments during Sheriffo Sonko and Modou Jonga leadership but never shared with Sanyang.

Bojang tried many times to collect the ward money from different council bosses. He met with CEO Modou Jonga after completing all required paperwork but nothing happened. The councilor wrote letters to new CEO Yankuba Darboe but received no answers back. Leaders have until June 23 to pay or face legal action against the council. Bojang stressed the council got money for official business and must distribute it properly.

Committee speakers raised concerns about Sanyang Ward development during the beach meeting. Kissama Bittaye from the social committee spoke about similar money problems. Almamo Touray and Nyimasata Touray also talked about project management issues. The ward already gave transaction details to their lawyer for possible court cases. Village leaders want fair treatment from the area council officials.
