Sapphire enters X870 club with PURE WIFI 7 motherboard

Sapphire has detailed its first AM5 motherboard using the X870 chipset, the PURE X870A WIFI 7. This ATX board supports all current Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series CPUs. It uses a robust 16+2+1 phase power design with dual 8-pin connectors to handle high-end processors.

The board features four DDR5 slots capable of speeds up to 8400 MT/s and a maximum of 256 GB RAM. For storage, it provides one PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot, two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, and four SATA ports. Expansion includes a full PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for graphics, plus additional PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 slots.

Networking combines a 2.5 gigabit Ethernet port with integrated Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Rear connectivity highlights a USB4 Type-C port with 40 Gbps bandwidth and display support, alongside multiple USB 3.2 ports and video outputs for APUs. A flash BIOS button is included for easy updates.

Pricing and a release date remain unannounced. Sapphire is already promoting the motherboard through an online contest, hinting at an imminent launch.
