Savar erupts as Dhaka trees vanish, adviser warns of looming eco crisis

Environment boss Syeda Rizwana Hasan fired up crowds at a massive tree planting bash in Savar. The climate chief warned that Bangladesh faces disaster unless people start planting trees like crazy. She blasted anyone who thinks they can trash nature without consequences. The adviser spoke at the Better Dhaka District Initiatives launch where officials planted a whopping 100,000 saplings across the area. Local bigwigs watched as she kicked off the green revolution with dreams of cleaner skies.

Hasan slammed the choking pollution strangling Dhaka and demanded immediate fixes. She told the crowd that sticking saplings in dirt means nothing unless people actually look after them. The government plans to crush brick kilns around Savar that pump out nasty fumes. Officials want to wipe out plastic bags and throwaway junk that clogs up the environment. She begged drivers to quit blasting their horns and making ridiculous noise.

Deputy Commissioner Tanvir Ahmed ran the show while forest officials and local administrators cheered from the sidelines. The environment chief grabbed a jackfruit sapling and stuck it in the ground at Savar Upazila Parishad to get things rolling. She later cornered reporters and promised the government will keep hammering polluters with legal action. The slogan called for green Savar under blue skies filled with flying dreams. Hasan stressed that saving the planet demands everyone pitch in beyond just planting trees.
