Serial killer Anymore Zvitsva was carried into court to face more charges

The guy accused of 19 killings just got hit with five more charges in Harare. Anymore Zvitsva, linked to Guruve and accused of a long string of deaths, went before Harare magistrate Ms Ruth Moyo as the case dumped more grim details into the record. Earlier, he was presented on a hospital bed facing eight counts, and he later got hauled in from remand jail while still dealing with a leg wound from getting shot during the arrest.

One allegation centers on Charity Chidhawu, age 20, at home with her two-year-old son. Prosecutors said Zvitsva pushed into the place with a machete, forced them into nearby scrub, tied Chidhawu to a tree, killed her with the blade, cut her up to fit a shallow pit, and covered it over. They said the child was killed in a similar way.

The court also heard claims tied to Tariro Gotora, seen herding cattle with a toddler on her back. Zvitsva was said to have had a machete and snare wire, forced her to throw the child into the Chisanga River, dragged her into the bush, raped her, choked her with the wire, and dumped her body into the river.

In Ditwi Village, Providence Maruza, 27, was allegedly targeted at home. The account said Zvitsva broke in carrying an Okapi knife and snare wire, tied her hands and feet, pulled her toward the Dangemuri mountains, raped her, stabbed her repeatedly, then ran.

Reginet Sango, 62, was allegedly attacked while getting water, threatened with a machete, and pressed for sex. When she tried to bolt, the claim said she was struck, raped, and left unconscious. Brian Ngoshi was also said to have been hit with a machete, robbed, and left out along the road until a passerby alerted his family. Zvitsva stayed in custody until early next month, and he was told to chase bail through the High Court.
