Sevilla set to offload Ejuke after tough season

Spanish team Sevilla wants to sell Nigerian player Chidera Ejuke during the summer transfer window. The club plans to rebuild their squad and sees the winger as someone they can move on from. Ejuke came to the team last summer without any transfer fee after his contract ended with Russian club CSKA Moscow. The 27-year-old footballer has not performed well since arriving at his new team. He spent three months away from playing because of a hamstring problem.

Ejuke scored two goals and made one assist across 25 league games for Sevilla this season. His numbers show he struggled to make a real impact for the team. The former Europa League champions have brought new people to run the club. Matias Almeyda became their fresh head coach and Antonio Cordon took over as sporting director.

Another Nigerian player faces the same situation at Sevilla this summer. Kelechi Iheanacho also joined the team without a transfer fee last summer but things did not work out. The club sent him to play for Middlesbrough during January. Both Nigerian players seem likely to leave Sevilla before next season starts.
