Shaibu Haruna calls MoMo agents to lead with efficiency

MobileMoney LTD's chief executive has urged mobile money agents nationwide to view themselves as efficiency leaders who drive integrity and community impact rather than simple transaction processors. Shaibu Haruna told participants at a capacity-building workshop organized by the Mobile Money Advocacy Group that agents serve as trusted financial custodians, enabling livelihoods through digital inclusion services.

The training session at the University of Ghana Business School addressed fraud prevention, banking partnerships, record keeping, tax compliance and retirement planning for more than 200 agents. Facilitators from the Ghana Police Service, Bank of Ghana, Deloitte Ghana and Universal Merchant Bank delivered practical guidance on operational resilience and business sustainability.

Haruna emphasized that effective leadership combines customer focus, collaboration and continuous learning to build sustainable enterprises. The advocacy group recognized MobileMoney LTD and MTN Ghana with citations for supporting the agent network.
