Shefali Shah roasts chiffon sarees in subzero Norway

Shefali Shah is on a family trip in Norway, celebrating her wedding anniversary with husband Vipul Amrutlal Shah and their sons. She posted a lengthy and humorous list of travel lessons from the freezing climate, dismissing the classic Bollywood fantasy of wearing chiffon sarees in the snow as something that only works in Yash Raj films, joking that in reality, you would just lose your fingers and toes. Her main advice stressed that thermals, not love, keep you warm, layering is essential, and stylish winter wear is a myth compared to just staying alive.

She detailed the exhausting process of getting dressed, estimating it takes three hours to manage all the layers, gloves, and shoelaces, often realizing a missed thermal layer at the end. Shah recommended practical snow pants over style, warned against old or heeled boots, and suggested claiming generic back-view photos of fjords and auroras as your own, since everyone looks the same. She described seeing the Aurora Borealis and diving with orcas, noting the unique beauty of each snowflake. The actress concluded by calling the wintry landscape a magical world worth surrendering to, having shared her experience of the Northern Lights online.
