Shekhar Kapur bets AI writes better stories now

Shekhar Kapur says AI is a game-changer, especially for young people and regular folks. The filmmaker told an outlet that AI can crank out a story idea in hours instead of the usual lengthy process. He called the tech a huge blessing for the middle class, letting them access expensive education for free.

Kapur often posts his deep thoughts on tech and creativity. He recently worried about AI's fast growth and its effect on Bollywood's future. On the work side, he confirmed a sequel to his classic film Masoom is happening. The script is done, with shooting planned soon. Original stars Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah will return, joined by Manoj Bajpayee, Nithya Menen, and the director's daughter Kaveri Kapur.

He also shared some spiritual musings from his time in Ladakh. Kapur compared his personal journey to prayer flags moving in the wind, a metaphor about losing and finding yourself.
