Shell Ghana Cuts Fuel Prices as Cedi Soars

Shell Ghana cut fuel prices after the cedi gained strength against foreign money. The company lowered petrol costs from 13.29 cedis to 12.49 cedis per liter on Tuesday. Diesel prices fell from 13.89 cedis to 12.89 cedis during the same day. Other fuel companies made similar changes to help customers save money. The stronger cedi helped all oil marketers reduce their rates.

Goil and StarOil announced lower prices on Monday before Shell made their changes. Goil reduced petrol from 13.27 cedis to 12.52 cedis starting at 6 am. Their diesel costs went from 13.87 cedis to 12.98 cedis at the same time. StarOil cut petrol from 12.57 cedis to 11.77 cedis beginning at 8 am. Some StarOil stations offer even cheaper rates at 11.57 cedis for petrol and 12.29 cedis for diesel.
