Shilpa Shetty denies Best Deal TV link, calls claims baseless

Shilpa Shetty issued a strong statement denying any legal wrongdoing. The actress called recent attempts to link her to a case involving Best Deal TV completely baseless and distressing. She clarified her involvement with the company was only as a non-executive figure. Shetty had no part in its daily operations, financial decisions, or signing authority.

She stated her work involved only professional product endorsements for the home shopping channel, similar to other public figures. Payments for that work are still outstanding, she noted. Furthermore, her family personally loaned the company a large sum, around twenty crore rupees, which also remains unpaid.

Shetty labeled the legal move to assign her criminal liability as mischievous and legally weak, especially after a nine-year delay. She argued these false claims damage a woman's dignity and public reputation unfairly. Quoting the Bhagavad Gita, she suggested failing to oppose such injustice is itself wrong.

The actress confirmed a quashing petition is already before the Bombay High Court. She expressed full faith in the judicial system to protect her rights. Shetty also requested media outlets to verify the facts and report on the situation responsibly.
