Shocking Twist KNEC Bans SMS for 2024 KCSE Results

The Kenya National Examination Council, or KNEC, released the 2024 KCSE results on Thursday. This year, students will not be able to receive their scores by SMS; they will need to use the KNEC website instead.

To see their results, students should go to the KNEC site. They need to click on the "KSCE Results" button. Then, they enter their index number and one of their names. The results will show up on the screen right away.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba announced the results. He did this at the New Mitihani House in Nairobi. The scores became available online as soon as he finished speaking.

Students can get their official result slips from their exam centers. A record 965,501 students took the KCSE exams in 2024, up from 903,138 in 2023. The exams were given at 10,755 locations.

Examiners finished marking the tests on December 13, 2024. They worked hard at 35 different marking centers. The former Education CS Machogu stopped SMS result checking after some errors with the 2023 KCPE exam results.
