Shockwaves Hit Nollywood With Irisoanga Passing

Noted Actor and teacher Columbus Irisoanga Dies.

Columbus Irisoanga, who taught at a top school and acted in many Nigerian films, has died. Fellow actor Hilda Dokubo shared the news with deep sadness.

"Heaven must need more angels," Dokubo wrote on social media. "This loss weighs hard on Uniport, Rivers State, and Nollywood."

Irisoanga worked as a senior teacher at the University of Port Harcourt, where he helped young actors learn their craft. He shared his deep love of acting with his students in the school's Theatre Arts group.

He became famous for his role as "Igbudu" in the 2001 film Isakaba, which made him a well-known face in Nigerian movies. He continued acting in films until his death.

Friends say he left a mark on both acting and teaching. His students, work friends, and movie fans have shared kind words about how his work touched their lives.
