Sibanda saves three pens as Bosso win Chibuku Cup thriller

Veteran goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda delivered three penalty saves to send Highlanders past Scottland FC into the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals. The quarter-final contest finished level at 2-2 before proceeding to a decisive shootout. Scottland failed to convert four of their five penalty attempts while the Highlanders maintained their composure under pressure. Kingsley Mureremba struck first for the visitors in the eighth minute before Khama Billiat added a second goal to establish a commanding advantage.

Learnmore Muyambo reduced the deficit for Highlanders with a header shortly after the half-hour mark. Andrew Mbeba completed the comeback with a late equalizer that forced extra time and penalties. Coach Baltemar Brito commended his players for their resilience throughout the dramatic encounter. Former Highlanders captain Peter Muduhwa experienced disappointment as his current team, Scottland, exited the competition. The victory advances the Highlanders to the tournament semi-finals despite their difficult league campaign this season.
