Silicon Motion Showcases New Storage and Display Solutions

Silicon Motion Technology Corporation plans to showcase its latest tech at Embedded World 2025 from March 11 to 13 in Nuremberg, Germany. The company makes NAND flash controllers that power solid-state storage devices worldwide. Visitors can also check out its newest storage and display products designed for AI applications. These include PCIe NVMe Gen 4/5 SSD controllers, Ferri embedded storage, and display interface chips that deliver better performance with less power use.

The company created a special automotive SSD controller called SM2264XT-AT. This PCIe Gen 4 controller connects to eight NAND channels running at speeds up to 1,600 MT/s each. It lets up to eight virtual machines share one physical PCIe device through built-in SR-IOV technology. Car makers will appreciate how it meets tough standards like AEC-Q100 Grades 2/3, ISO 26262 for safety, and ISO 21434 for cybersecurity. The SM2264XT-AT stands out as the first product with ASPICE Capability Level 3 certification for top-notch software quality.

The Ferri family products tackle tough storage needs for industrial systems and AI devices at the edge. These include FerriSSD, Ferri-eMMC, and Ferri-UFS options made with high-quality manufacturing processes. They work great for factories, medical equipment, robots, and smart buildings. Special features like NANDXtend ECC, IntelligentScan, and DataRefresh help these storage solutions last longer and protect data better, even under harsh conditions.

Looking for display solutions? The SM770 chip runs up to three 4K screens at once for industrial systems. It uses special Content Adaptive Technology that takes the pressure off your computer's main processor. The InstantView software makes setup easy - just plug it in and start using it without installing any drivers. The SM770 works with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, ChromeOS, and many display brands right out of the box.

For data centers running AI workloads, Silicon Motion offers the MonTitan 128 TB QLC SSD Development Kit. This massive storage device supports PCIe Gen 5 x4 NVMe 2.0 and follows OCP 2.5 data center rules. It reads data extremely fast at over 14 GB/s and handles 3.3 million random operations every second. These drives help AI systems train large language models faster and reduce power usage during graph neural network tasks. They make your expensive AI graphics cards work more efficiently by providing data quicker.
