Silver Behemoth Takes Ugandan Football To New Heights

FUFA created a shiny new trophy for the Uganda Premier League champions. The football association calls their silver creation Margherita after the country's tallest mountain peak. Vipers SC will receive this award during Saturday's ceremony as the league winners. The trophy design copies Uganda's beautiful hills and mountain ranges across the landscape. Football teams compete to reach the highest point just like climbers scale Mount Margherata.

The trophy looks like a stretched football standing on a round base. Silver material gives the award a bright appearance that catches light from different angles. Designers carved hexagonal panels onto the surface to remind people of soccer ball patterns. The trophy measures exactly 511 millimeters tall to represent the 5.11 kilometer mountain height. Two separate tiers hold engravings for FUFA and Uganda Premier League names.

The crescent shape at the top represents new beginnings for each football season. Vertical lines run down the trophy's body connecting the top and bottom sections smoothly. A black glossy base provides strong support and creates visual contrast against the bright silver. The entire piece sits on a flat stand that keeps everything steady and elegant. FUFA officials say this trophy tells the story of teams fighting to stand tallest in Ugandan football.
