Silver Strikers Players Rewarded with K1 Million After FCB 30 Years Trophy Win

Silver Strikers defeated FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with a 2-0 victory at Bingu National Stadium on Sunday. First Capital Bank chairman Hitesh Anadkat gave each winning player one million kwacha as a reward. The match celebrated FCB's 30th anniversary of banking operations across Malawi. Fans from both teams packed the stadium for the special celebration game. The crowd cheered loudly when officials announced the cash prizes for Silver Strikers players.

Binwell Katinji scored the opening goal just nine minutes after kickoff started. Silver Strikers earned a penalty kick at the 30-minute mark when defenders fouled Innocent Shema inside the penalty area. The team converted the penalty successfully to take a commanding 2-0 lead over their opponents. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets created several scoring chances but failed to find the back of the net. Lameck Gamphani and Paul Master missed good opportunities to score for their team.

The match turned dramatic when Bullets goalkeeper Clever Nkungula received a red card at 77 minutes. Officials sent him off the field for committing a serious foul against an opponent. Dominic Musonda stepped forward to replace the ejected goalkeeper since the team had used all substitutions already. Silver Strikers assistant coach Mapopa Msukwa praised his players for their strong performance during the anniversary match. FCB offered special promotions and gave away team jerseys to supporters throughout the celebration event.
