Simba Bhora sniff CAF glory in Mbabane, Mutukure flexes

Simba Bhora secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Eswatini's Nsingizini Hotspurs during their CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg match in Francistown, Botswana. Defender Boid Mutukure delivered an outstanding performance on his continental debut after joining the club from ZPC Kariba just two months earlier. The 31-year-old Karoi-born player had previously abandoned hopes of international recognition following years of neglect by national team selectors. Mutukure formed part of Joel Luphahla's three-man defensive system alongside Webster Tafa and Isheanesu Mauchi during the match.

The veteran defender completed six aerial clearances and won multiple ground duels while making several key interceptions against the Eswatini opponents. Mutukure expressed gratitude toward coach Luphahla for providing this unexpected opportunity to compete at continental level. The team must maintain focus for the second leg encounter in Mbabane to secure progression to the next qualifying round. Financial rewards and exposure from advancing further could benefit both the club and individual players seeking moves to larger leagues.
