Simbu and Vetrimaaran wrap the first schedule of 'Arasan', chaos guaranteed

The first filming schedule for Vetrimaaran's action movie Arasan, starring Silambarasan, has finished in Kovilpatti. Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu shared a behind-the-scenes video highlighting Simbu’s transformation and director Vetrimaaran working on set. The project, a collaboration between Simbu and the acclaimed director, has major buzz partly because actor Vijay Sethupathi recently joined the cast. Key roles will also feature Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, and Kishore, with music by Anirudh.

A previously released promo hints at a gritty narrative connected to Vetrimaaran’s earlier film Vada Chennai. That clip shows Simbu advising director Nelson, who appears as himself, to use a disclaimer when depicting real events involving ongoing legal cases. Simbu’s character then denies murder charges in court, despite scenes showing him committing the acts. Vetrimaaran has clarified that this film is not a direct sequel to Vada Chennai, but exists within that same world. Shooting is set to resume early next year.
