SmartTube is in trouble, app wipes hit Fire TV and Android

SmartTube devs are freaking out because their signing key got leaked, and both Google and Amazon started nuking the app off Fire TV and Android boxes automatically. The compromised signature means sketchy actors could cook up fake versions that swipe your login info since the OS can't tell legit builds from impostor garbage anymore.

Anyone still running the app should keep using it, but skip any updates until the team drops a fresh build with a clean signature on GitHub. The new release won't overwrite the old one, so you'll have to yeet the busted version manually after installing the replacement. All existing downloads got pulled, and random fix guides are floating around that you should probably ignore.
