Sound Particles's GrainDust has a God complex

Sound Particles released GrainDust, a granular synthesizer featuring four independent layers for creating evolving textures through grain-based sound manipulation. The software provides control over rate, density, size, continuity, and detune parameters for each layer and supports sample range selection globally or per envelope generator stage. Users can select from grain envelopes, including Hann, Rectangle, Triangle, Tukey, or Saw options, and introduce non-pitched grains with octave selection per layer for noise-like textures.

The synthesizer supports MIDI Polyphonic Expression for performance control and contains an arpeggiator with seven modes alongside a 128-step sequencer with spatial parameters. The software offers envelope generators and low-frequency oscillators with keyboard and velocity mapping, four effects slots, and spatial audio formats from stereo to 7.1.2, Binaural, and Ambisonics. GrainDust runs on macOS and Windows systems in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for $224 through the introductory period before returning to $299.
