South Korea hosts export fair ahead of APEC summit in Gyeongju

South Korea launched its largest export promotion fair on Tuesday for a three-week showcase of local businesses before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit later this month. The 2025 Boom-up Korea Week runs through Nov. 7 and connects approximately 1,700 global companies from 70 nations with about 4,000 Korean firms. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources anticipates more than 10,000 export consultations will generate $350 million in deals and memorandums of understanding.

The event features 28 exhibitions highlighting technologies across electronics, semiconductors, future mobility, shipbuilding, and biohealth sectors. Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo said the government aims to demonstrate Korean corporate brand strength and support businesses beyond APEC. The summit convenes in Gyeongju from Oct. 31 through Nov. 1 and will gather leaders from APEC member economies alongside business representatives. Construction of the summit venue has concluded, and officials have completed final inspections of facilities and transportation systems.
