Top Law Maker Thanks Local Leaders.
Uganda's head lawmaker, Anita Among, praised local chiefs at their big meeting on Friday at the Wakisha Resource Centre in Wakiso.
Among said these leaders help ensure the land runs well. "You make laws work for the people," she told them. Your work makes Uganda better."
The local chiefs talked of the hard things they face in their jobs. Among them, one said she would help fix these problems. "I want you to do your work better," she said.
Among felt glad the group picked her as their guide. "I feel great to lead you," she said. "I will make sure high leaders hear what you need."
The chiefs shared what they knew about leading people and discussed ways to improve their work in each small area.
Among other things, she asked them to stay strong in their work. She said good leaders help the land grow. She wants the chiefs to join hands and stay clear in their work.
"If we help each other, we can do more," Among said. "Let us speak for the people and keep rules fair."
The meeting ended with the chiefs ready to work hard. And other big leaders said they would keep helping the local chiefs.
