Spitfire Audio has released Spitfire Symphony Orchestra Discover as a free download, expanding its accessible library offerings following the success of BBCSO Discover, which has accumulated over one million downloads. The new collection features 44 instruments and 73 articulations recorded at Lyndhurst Hall within AIR Studios, providing composers and producers across multiple genres with authentic orchestral sounds derived from the complete Spitfire Symphony Orchestra package.
Co-founder Paul Thomson stated the release aims to deliver high-quality orchestral capabilities to a broad range of music creators, offering full dynamic range and vibrato control for genuine musical expression. The software operates through Native Instruments Kontakt Player version 7.5.2 or higher on Windows 10 and macOS 11 systems, with VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats alongside a standalone application.
