Squanch Games hopes High on Life 2 has gameplay this time

Squanch Games released a 42-minute gameplay demonstration for High on Life 2, the follow-up to their 2022 comedy shooter. The sequel launches February 13, 2026 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will access the title immediately upon release. The story begins five years after the original events with players targeting a pharmaceutical executive who seeks to transform humans into medication. A deeper conspiracy emerges when the protagonist receives a contract to eliminate their sibling.

The sequel introduces significant mechanical changes through skateboard-based movement systems that replace traditional locomotion. Players will discover fresh weaponry and explore ConCon, a planet composed of floating convention centers. Squanch Games appears to have increased production values and scope compared to the predecessor. The developer faces pressure to balance humor with substantial gameplay mechanics. Critics questioned whether the original prioritized comedy over engaging interactive elements.
