Ssekikuubo and Rwashande face off in fiery Lwemiyaga NRM primary

National Resistance Movement primaries in Lwemiyaga constituency witnessed a heated confrontation between incumbent Theodore Ssekikuubo and challenger Emmanuel Rwashande on Thursday. The rivals engaged in a heated argument at a polling station, with voters and officials watching. Rwashande accused Ssekikuubo of intimidation tactics against constituents. Ssekikuubo responded by telling the retired brigadier to abandon his military mindset. Female polling officials failed to stop the escalating verbal clash.

Recent violence had already disrupted the electoral process in Ssembabule district. Army soldiers killed 25-year-old Fred Ssembusi during a Ssekikuubo campaign rally. The incident wounded Ssekikuubo when a bullet struck his finger. Party electoral commission chairman Dr. Tanga suspended campaign activities following the deadly shooting. Police assigned security protection to Ssekikuubo after the attack.
