SSL 360 V2.0 rewires studio control

Solid State Logic released version 2.0 of its SSL 360 software on Thursday, adding workflow improvements for Pro Tools users and expanded control options across its hardware lineup. The cross-platform application manages SSL's 360-enabled software and hardware products at no charge through the SSL Download Manager.

The UC1 controller features automatic track ordering that mirrors Pro Tools sessions, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. Track colors appear on the UC1 display, and selections sync across Pro Tools, UC1 and UF8 units simultaneously.

The UF8 and UF1 controllers have received Hybrid Mode capabilities, which merge DAW control with the Plug-in Mixer layer. Users access automation keys and DAW shortcuts directly from Plug-in Mixer mode, while FOCUS mode enables quick parameter adjustments.

SSL 12 and SSL 18 audio interfaces added customizable monitor knob assignments. SSL 12 owners configure outputs one through four or disable monitoring, while SSL 18 users assign any of 10 analog outputs or the S/PDIF connection for surround applications.
