St Petersburg boat tours ditch loudspeakers

People living near water in St Petersburg kept telling officials about loud boat tours. Tour boats sailing through rivers and canals made too much noise with their speakers. The city government talked with boat companies about fixing this problem. They agreed that boat tours should use headphones instead of loudspeakers for passengers.

Ilya Banov from the Tourism Committee told everyone about this new plan during a Transport Commission meeting. The Association of Passenger Vessel Owners supports this change for boat excursions. Residents will hear less noise when boats pass their homes, and life should become more peaceful for people who live close to these waterways.

Boat season just started in early April across St Petersburg waterways. The city also launched fast Kotlin catamarans heading to Kronstadt recently. These boats will need to follow the new rules about not using loudspeakers during their tours.
