Stanbic Bank Uganda Names Mumba Kalifungwa Chief

Mumba Kenneth Kalifungwa stepped into his role as CEO at Stanbic Bank Uganda, the largest financial institution across Uganda based on assets, revenue, and deposits. The bank revealed his selection in December last year. He expressed happiness about joining Stanbic and looks forward to making positive changes for staff members, bank customers, and Ugandans. He aims to collaborate with many partners.

Patrick Mweheire of Standard Bank East Africa sees perfect timing in this leadership addition. He noted how Uganda keeps showing economic strength despite global financial struggles. He highlighted promising areas like infrastructure projects, oil and gas developments, and improved trade relations. These sectors present chances to help more Ugandans build sustainable futures.

Francis Karuhanga runs Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited and strongly backs Mumba as the right person for this job. He appreciated everyone who assisted during the leadership transition phase. The banking operation remains their core business, making this appointment especially important. Karuhanga encouraged stakeholders to continue supporting efforts that boost national growth.

Damoni Kitabire leads the Stanbic Bank Board and applauds management for maintaining steady operations throughout recent changes. He emphasizes how well internal structures worked during this period. Kitabire formally welcomes Mumba to the Stanbic team. He also recognizes the dedication shown by all employees who kept standards high during uncertain times.
