Starlink outage hits 65000 users as T-Mobile partnership leaves beta phase

SpaceX faced widespread service disruptions across its Starlink satellite internet network. Down Detector recorded more than 65,000 user complaints within minutes of the outage beginning. Reports surged from 7,830 at 3:10 PM Eastern Time to 61,572 by 3:25 PM. Multiple countries experienced connectivity problems as users flooded social media platforms with complaints. The company acknowledged the technical failure and began implementing corrective measures.

The disruption occurred on the same day SpaceX and T-Mobile launched their cellular coverage partnership to the public. Their T-Satellite service moved beyond beta testing and became available to AT&T and Verizon customers. More than 650 specialized Starlink satellites power this cellular dead zone elimination system. Elon Musk apologized for the outage and promised to address underlying causes. The Starlink constellation serves over six million users worldwide through approximately 8,000 orbiting satellites.
