A State House delegation visited the Kyabazinga of Busoga at Igenge Palace in Bugembe on Oct. 3 to discuss development initiatives for the region. Senior Presidential Advisor David Kenneth Mafabi and Special Presidential Assistant Nabirye Barbra Nana led the team. The officials proposed creating a Post-Harvest Service Law Center to reduce the 60-70% crop losses farmers face annually through better processing infrastructure.
The delegation also presented plans for a leadership school targeting children ages 8 to 18. Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV endorsed both projects and requested a detailed concept note for review. He stressed the need for value addition and leadership training to advance Busoga's economy. Chiefs from the kingdom's 11 chiefdoms attended the meeting at the palace.
