Sanet Steenkamp has promised she'll work hard managing her big job running the education, innovation, youth, sport, arts, and culture ministry with deputy Dino Ballotti. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah named them both to these positions last Saturday. Steenkamp has been the executive director of education, arts, and culture since 2015. The president personally picked her as one of eight special appointees.
Her appointment papers included many tasks she had to finish. She admits the challenges ahead but believes strongly in her team. With help from her deputy minister, executive directors, and hardworking staff members, she feels ready to lead the newly combined ministry. She considers this responsibility extremely important and approaches it with serious dedication.
Ballotti, just 38 years old, plans to concentrate on helping young people and improving sports, especially building better sports facilities across the country. He became one of ten Swapo National Assembly candidates in September 2024. He emphasized they need money to build sports facilities that help Namibian athletes compete better internationally. He also wants to create steady jobs for young Namibians, which he says affects many different areas.
