Stephen A. Smith to front World Solitaire Championship

Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith has accepted an ambassadorship role with mobile gaming firm Papaya for the inaugural World Solitaire Championship scheduled for February 2026 in Miami. The partnership emerged after video footage showed Smith engaged with the card game during an NBA Finals matchup between Oklahoma City and Indiana, prompting company executives to identify him as an ideal representative for their competitive gaming initiative.

The championship will convene at Miami's Temple House, with Papaya promising substantial prizes and elevated gameplay standards for participants. Marketing executive Uri Pearl characterized Smith's courtside gaming moment as transcending viral novelty, making his selection as ambassador feel organic to the brand's vision.

Papaya plans to launch promotional efforts through collaboration with Ariely Original, The Artery, and Too Short for Modeling, utilizing artificial intelligence technology to amplify campaign reach ahead of the Florida competition.
