A powerful windstorm damaged police housing at Makhado Police Post in Beitbridge on Monday afternoon. The station is 80 kilometers from Beitbridge, along the highway to Bulawayo, and serves rural communities in the Gwanda and Beitbridge districts of Matabeleland South. Chief Superintendent Mesuli Ncube said officers escaped injury, but residential buildings sustained significant damage from the weather event.
