Stray dog attacks Kenyan official at Delhi stadium

A stray dog bit a Kenyan official at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday, prompting authorities to dispatch two dog-catching vehicles to the venue. The incident occurred while the facility hosted the World Para Athletics Championships, which brought 2,200 para-athletes and support staff from 104 countries to the nine-day competition that began on Sept. 26. Officials raised concerns about security protocols at the Delhi venue ahead of the international competition.

India ranked eighth in the medal standings with four gold, five silver, and two bronze medals at the time of the incident. The nation achieved its best performance at the previous championships in Kobe, Japan, with 17 total medals and a sixth-place finish. The 2023 Paris edition saw India earn 10 medals before breaking that record in Japan.
