Student denies bullying Zara Qairina, claims calm exchange over missing wallet

A Form Four student at SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha, accused of bullying 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir, testified today in the Coroner’s Court that she never scolded, humiliated, or harmed Zara on the night the girl fell.

Known as Student B, the accused stated that her interaction with Zara on July 15 was calm and limited to questioning her about a missing wallet. She clarified that she had simply asked Zara if she knew about the missing wallet and identification card of another student, which Zara denied.

Student B, a dorm leader, said Zara appeared normal and not emotionally distressed during the brief exchange. She also denied any involvement in further questioning by other students after the confrontation.

The student confirmed that she was not part of any official dorm disciplinary process and maintained that she never left the dorm room between midnight and 3 a.m., the hours Zara is believed to have fallen.
