Students Block Shahbagh, Demand PSC Reforms and Crackdown on Question Leakers

Angry students shut down busy Shahbagh intersection Friday afternoon over government job test cheating. The protesters want major changes at the Public Service Commission and punishment for people who steal exam questions. Traffic came to a complete stop when the group called Chhatra Shamabesh took over the roads. The students first met at Dhaka University Central Library before walking to the intersection. Cars and buses could not move through the area during the demonstration.

The protesters told reporters that the Public Service Commission needs massive improvements. They want authorities to arrest the criminals who leak government job exam questions before tests happen. The students claim the government acts scared of the powerful group that steals questions. No courts have punished anyone for question theft since the Awami League government fell on August 5th. The protesters say everyone knows about the cheating scandal.

The students pointed to major problems with the 44th, 45th and 46th BCS exams. They believe the current interim government has done nothing to fix the crisis. The group demands that officials review all results from the 44th BCS exam again. The protesters want real action against the question stealing network that hurts honest test takers. They refuse to accept weak government responses to this serious problem.
