Sugar Chagonda takes the helm at Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corp

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation appointed Sugar Chagonda as Chief Executive Officer effective August 1, 2025. The ZBC Board selected the experienced media strategist who previously worked at the broadcaster from 2004 before joining other organizations. Chagonda spent time at Zimbabwe Tourism Authority starting in 2009 and later moved to Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company in 2018. His background spans corporate communications across tourism, mining, and broadcasting sectors. Board members praised his extensive experience in transforming public institutions.

Chagonda maintains strong connections to sports development through his service on the Zimbabwe Football Association board. He also founded Manica Diamonds Football Club as Secretary General.
