Three people died when vehicles crashed on the Sylhet-Sunamganj regional highway on Friday morning. The collision between a speeding truck and an auto-rickshaw happened at 7:15 am near Shatrumardan Bagherkona village in Paschim Pagla union. Keshba Priya, age 40, and her seventh-grade daughter Prathama Chowdhury perished alongside passenger Sajal Ghosh, 50. The family had been traveling from their Ukilpara home to visit relatives in Sylhet.
Emergency responders rushed Prathama to Shantiganj Upazila Health Complex after the crash. Medical staff declared the student from Satish Chandra Girls' High School dead upon arrival. The truck driver escaped immediately following the accident. Police Officer Abdul Ahad confirmed authorities are actively searching for the vehicle and driver while conducting their investigation.
